We’re BACK baby!

Well, well, well… what a difference a week can make.

After a fairly serious wobble (albeit while dabbling in sunshine), Saturday rolled around for my long run. My training app said “2 hours 15, please, with 40 minutes at race pace.”

“Botheration to that,” I said (or at least, I used words that were similar), and instead joined Colin on his “short-ish” loop.

I had an hour’s worth of Tailwind in my backpack which was my first attempt at trying fuelling things that mean I don’t have to eat foul gels 🤢, and off we went.

We had a lovely time along the canal, onto the road, into Stourport, over to Bewdley, extended slightly while I hunted for a loo, back past the Safari Park, down into town, and home.

In all, 11.3 miles. And the time I was running for? Well, turns out… 2 hours 15.

So the training app got what it wanted, just without the 40 minutes at a faster race pace... which, as my first proper comeback run since being struck by the worst illness in the history of people being ill, I reckon isn’t too shabby.

YEAH!!

And the other brilliant bit? A lovely mile sponsor has taken on an extra 2 miles, which means I only have 5 miles left to get sponsored, and I’ve now ticked past the £3,000 mark in my fundraising.

I’m aiming for £4,000, so all in all, a pretty great end to February!

If you want to help me get a bit closer to my 4k target, you can help me out right here.
