Everything and Nothing.
This week, on The Road to London, I have everything and nothing to say.
Nothing, because I succumbed to the cold that was in my face and pouring out of my nose (so only got 1 of my planned runs in).
However,
That 1 run?
Epic… not because I was running my best run ever, but because it was only week 3 from launching the This Woman Runs running group in Wyre Forest and we had 33 people in total!
That’s 33 people who took the time out of their Sunday morning to join a group run in our forest!
Some have been coming every week. Some were new. Some want to get back into running. Some have had a hip replacement. Some just want some company. Some just want to feel better.
But this is feel-good running at its very best.
Which is a nice seg-way into my fundraising announcement.
So here it is.
I have a fundraising goal for London 2026 to support Nightstop, (the charity I’m running for).
I have a KILLER OFFER for businesses out there… I’m selling my marathon miles to plug YOUR business.
The Plan:
I have 26 miles to run, so that’s 26 names to go on the list.
I’m “selling” those miles to any business who wants it. First come, first served.
I am asking for a £100 minimum donation for the mile.
I will, at your designated mile during the London Marathon, at your mile marker, record myself to give a shout out about and celebrate your business.
As the race goes on and my brain turns to gravy, this could descend into.. well, who knows what?
I will need a fantastic organising system, a laminated list probably, heck, I’ll tattoo the names onto my arm if I have to… but I will make these video snippets and use them to post far and wide with your brand and business name, to celebrate your kind support and the fab work you do.
So while this week, you can chuck a fiver in the fundraising bucket right here to keep me stocked up with Fishermen Friends and Tissues, now’s your chance to get involved with my “buy a mile” plan which may descend into utter mayhem….it’ll be fun, either way.
Miles are first come first served… so pick your mile wisely!
